   Decorative Door
Mats
There are
mats that are simply for wiping the crud from you feet prior
to entering a house and there are mats that are also there
for decorative purposes – decorative door mats. People who
place these types of mats in front of their front door
sometimes cause visitors some anguish. When these people
arrive at a house, ring the doorbell and are beckoning to
enter, there is always a slight pause before stepping onto
the shag carpet and the question of – “should I wipe my feet
on this mat or what,” runs through their mind. Some guests
ask, others step over the mat, while still others don’t care
and wipe their soiled feet. With this quandary happening
every time visitors arrive at a house with decorative door
mats, one wonders why people purchase such door accessories.
The answer is that the homeowner wants some kind of reaction
from guests and more often than not, someone will comment on
the mat that greets him of her. Invariably simple sentences
such as, “nice mat”, or “cute” both of these responses are
met with smiles from the homeowner, however he or she knows
the comments are trite.
Decorative door mats can give
something different to your front of back door. They can add
color to a sometimes colorless front door. Depending of the
type of design or what is written, they can bring a smile to
an unsmiling face. The Bacova Guild Coir is a colorful mat
that is made from coir and other fibers. The writing on the
mat is reversible – giving two different greetings. The
coarseness of the coir scrapes footwear thoroughly clean
without losing its color and welcoming charm. The Bacova
Guild Coir mat is long lasting and should give you years of
excellent cleaning service. Priced at only $23.00 it
certainly is an excellent buy. Lawn and House Décor is
retailing decorative door mats that depict each season.
Colorful mats of a winter scene, spring, summer and fall,
can be purchase for no more than $30.00 per mat. It is
advisable, of course, to buy four of these mats and as the
seasons change, so too should the mats. This rotating of the
mats will have them lasting longer and will indeed enhance
your front door.
Having
something like decorative door mats on your veranda will be
a welcome change for visitors and although the there may be
the above quandary; you’ll find that most reactions will be
positive – if you do receive a trite remark, just ignore
it.
