   Outdoor Door
Mat
Do you need
an outdoor door mat? You know, one of those mats that
you can place either on your front porch or in your
backyard? I’ve seen a wide variety of mats in my time
searching for the perfect one to fit with my new house,
there are so many different styles shapes and sizes of mats
to choose from that it can be hard to decide on any 1
mat.
There is of
course the standard rectangular outdoor door mat which bears
the “Welcome”, but then there are other more interesting
mats with either nice designs on them or funny sayings or
even pictures painted onto them.
Whichever
one you go with is going to depend on what kind of mood you
want to set for the person about to enter your house.
Do you want to have a professional looking mat, or do you
want it to be more light hearted? Do you want it to
reflect who you are as a person?
I know some
people who have just had a baby like to put mats out that
state they have a newborn, they usually end up buying them
at the same time they’re redesigning a room for the upcoming
baby. I’ve also seen some nice regal looking mats with
intricate patterns on them, as well as mats that have
pictures of dogs, pumpkins, deer, fruit, the U.S. flag and
various other random items.
If you’re
really trying to set yourself apart, you might want to go
for not only a unique pattern or message, but also a unique
shape or texture as those are other variables that you can
play around with.
Now the
outdoor door mat you pick up can be used classically on your
front porch, however there are also some people who place
them at their side door entrances or even in their
backyards. It really can become a hobby, collecting
various interesting mats, especially if you’re the type of
person who likes to invite people over for dinner a lot,
your clever mat will end up getting a lot of viewership and
comments that way.
One other
thing to consider about an outdoor door mat is what purpose
is it going to serve? Is it just going to be for fun
or do you also want one that is functional? Chances
are you don’t want your fancy mat to get all smeared up with
stains, so you may only want to put your special mat out for
special occasions. Then you may also have other mats
for say winter, so that you can stomp your boots on it and
have the snow fall in between the perforations in the
mat.
There are
many things to consider when getting an outdoor door mat and
these are just a few.
